Joakim was born in 1972 in the southern part of Sweden in Lund. He grew up in a small town outside Lund called Staffanstorp. Joakim is a curious type who likes to try new things. Photography, fishing, whisky, scuba diving, skiing, traveling, languages and food all have a place close to his heart.

Sport has throughout this whole life played an important role, provided that the sport involve a ball of some kind... He hates jogging! Also, music is something that sparked his interest early on. His first instrument was the trumpet. Accompanied by his father on the organ, he tirelessly played solo as his saliva was dripping from the tip of the trumpet. Later, he has had a go at abusing other instruments like for example, drums, piano and guitar with various degree of success. Actually, he prefers to see other people perform. His first favorite groups were "The Boppers" and "Abba".

Since about five years back, Joakim no longer lives in Sweden. In 1999, he embarked on the adventure of his lifetime. He moved to Groningen in The Netherlands. One day, two years later, he saw his staple food change form croquettes and French fries with mayonnaise to raw fish, fermented soy beans and rice. He had moved to Tokyo, the place where he later would dance his way to the heart of his beloved.

After three years in Japan and close to eight years working in the starch industry, time had come for something new. BASF in Germany was looking for someone with experience from the food industry. Joakim said yes and today he is working with technical marketing of vitamins for the food and beverage industry.
